Neo Crema Co., Ltd. selected for research project to expand application of functional ingredients in general food products.

Neocrema Co., Ltd. has been selected on May 17 as a research participant for the project "Research to Expand the Application of Functional Ingredients to General Foods," one of the 12 open-ended projects under the 'High-Value Food Technology Development Future-Responsive Food Technology Development' initiative led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

This research project is part of the 'Tailored Food Support Project to Capture the Next-Generation Food Market in Post-Corona Era,' focusing not only on industrial technology development in the promising future food sector but also on strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic food industry and the global growth of K-Food.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, consumer interest in health functional foods that help boost immunity is high, and the market for health functional foods in the context of disease prevention is expected to continually grow. However, the current health functional foods are mostly based on about 80 certified ingredients, which limits the ability to indicate the benefits of ingredients aimed at functionality.

Neocrema Co., Ltd. plans to proceed with various applications of functional ingredients that were challenging to apply to general foods, by optimizing the development of functional ingredients through research on manufacturing methods for general food application.
